We are looking for a compassionate, energetic and diligent candidate to join our team.  This is an opportunity to play a key role in executing an innovative and unconventional pilot for a fast moving, impact focused startup.   • Play a key role in all aspects of field operations – implement and oversee program field operations, dynamically resolve any related challenges that arise, and make creative recommendations to enhance program design and delivery
  • Recruit, coordinate and manage a field team for a successful pilot and to scale our operations beyond the pilot
  • Spend significant time with m.Paani members to understand their needs and aspirations as individuals and experience within our program.  Design rewards to enhance the social impact of our work and develop strategies to enhance members’ experience within our program
  • Prototype new program features, including mobile-based features and rewards. Share key insights and contribute to our creative development process
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow program membership, in addition to surveying new areas for expansion
  • Build strong and positive relationships with our field partners; pro-actively develop new relationships with potential point earn and reward partners (these include local kirana shops, education and health providers)
  • Be a dynamic problem-solver – address and resolve member and partner concerns effectively and empathetically
  • Be a compelling storyteller – deliver insights about m.Paani member experience and behavior, partner experience and overall program operations – verbally and visually – in a way that informs program design and development
  • Contribute to and support activities related to the overall growth of the company from key strategy decisions to administrative tasks

Compensation & Logistics

This is a full-time opportunity.  Compensation will be in line with an early stage social enterprise; negotiable based on qualifications and experience.  The position is based in Mumbai, India, and the candidate must live in Mumbai or be willing to relocate.


We are looking for a teammate with the following skills, experience and attributes:


  • Passion for and commitment to working closely with underserved communities to understand needs and implement innovative solutions that address them
  • Bachelor or Masters degree from reputed university, with demonstrated interest in using skills to create impact
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including working directly with underserved communities and relationship and partnership management
  • Successfully managed complex projects, teams, and partners, coordinating between multiple stakeholders effectively
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and culturally-sensitive, with a strong desire to understand people and their stories
  • Entrepreneurial with a notable track record of self-initiated and –driven projects, as part of which you have built successful teams
  • Familiarity with and keen interest in behavioral sciences, design thinking and human-centred design
  • Loves the intensity, chaos and passion of start-ups, and wants to work with a fun-loving team who truly enjoy working together to realize a shared dream
  • Team player who takes ownership of work, is detail and deadline oriented, with a strong work ethic
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi and Marathi


  • Experience working with a start-up and/or socially-oriented organization on a pilot project
  • Experience implementing pilot simulations and/or prototyping products/services
  • International education and/or work experience, in addition to, experience living and/or working in India
